No Protection, No Justice
By Lee Hanlon
Another BC judge lets a dangerous offender out on bail. The results? An entire family murdered in cold blood and one suicide. All the signs were there. In fact the local police argued that Peter Hyun Joon Lee be held without bail to protect the family. Of course the judge wouldn’t hear of it. He allowed Lee out on bail and ordered him to stay away from his family. But that didn’t happen. Now a whole family is dead.
And as far as this runaway judge was concerned it didn’t matter that Lee was facing several criminal charges, including aggravated assault, dangerous driving causing injury (to his wife), and forcible confinement. It also didn’t matter to this judge that the authorities were concerned for the safety of the Lee family. I wonder how this judge feels now? Don’t you?
Lee was also facing a $25,000 law suite from a former employee for assault. Of course Lee denied these allegations. But then don’t they all?
When will judges get their heads out of the sand and start protecting society? Rulings like the one above makes one wonder where these judges come from?
Lee was also a member of the Canadian Forces Navel Reserve HMCS Malahat. He held the rank of Master Seaman which is equivalent to the rank of Master Corporal in the Army and Air Force.
Makes one wonder why in one case where a CF reservist NCO was released from the military due to false allegations made by his wife who was a known drug addict with a psychological disorder. In that case the CF violated the member’s due process. Yet in the case of Peter Lee, who had a pattern of violence was able to retain his position with the military.
Justice in Canada? No such luck!
